Find Jobs - Advanced Search

Published 09/16/2004 11:46 AM   |    Updated 02/25/2010 09:44 AM

Where do I begin to search for jobs?

You can run searches on TheLadders on the Find Jobs page.  You are able to either perform a quick search using the "Keyword" and "Location" fields at the top of Find Jobs, or you can opt for a more advanced search, by clicking on the "Advanced Search" link underneath the "Search" button.

When you click on the "Advanced Search" option you can break down your search by Keyword, Location, Ladder, Sector, Years of Experience, Level or Date Posted.

Keyword & Location: If you use the keyword search simply enter your keyword or desired job title. If you search by location you can either enter a zip code, town, city or state in the search field. Make sure you choose how far from your location you are willing to travel by using the radius dropdown. You also have the option to search by region. One important thing to note in this section is you can also search only Virtual/Travel or International jobs (note Canada is considered domestic).

Ladder: As a Premium member you can search under multiple ladders. This means if you are a member of FinanceLadder but would like to look at jobs posted under MktgLadder and SalesLadder you have the option of looking under all three. This search function allows you to pick multiple Ladders. (Note: Basic members can switch their Ladders here but will not be able to check off multiple Ladders).

Sector/ Years of Experience/Level/Date Posted: More options for narrowing your search down or keeping it broader. Just check off the appropriate boxes relevant to your job search.

You may also notice the "Search Preferences" section at the bottom of the page. When you run a job search using any of the search options available to you in "Advanced Search," you can also select your job-match preferences. One thing to note in this section is the option to NOT see jobs you have already viewed.

Whether you're a Basic or Premium member, you have the added bonus of saving your search as one of your Saved Searches, which will provide you with Job Alerts that match your search criteria.

***Reminder:  As a Premium member of TheLadders you have the ability to search, view and apply to all our $100k+ opportunities across all eight Ladders. If you want to view and apply to all the jobs you see (and more), upgrade today
